Gaja & Rey 2004 Gaja vini
Gaja & Rey is one of the best Italian white wines, a fine Piedmontese wine made from Chardonnay grapes produced by one of the most historic and prestigious wineries on the Italian scene, the Gaja winery, led by the legendary Angelo Gaja. Like all Gaja wines, the label alone makes it recognizable in the world, the minimalist style of the bottle graphics is the trademark of the company.
Gaja & Rey is produced by the Gaja winery from the most widely used international white grape variety in the world: Chardonnay. The grapes for the production are obtained from old vines more than 40 years old, the meticulous work in the vineyard, the careful selection of the best bunches and the manual harvesting allow to have a raw material of the highest quality, the production process does the rest. Vinification and subsequent aging of 12 months take place in barriques and before being released on the market the wine still undergoes a period of 6 months of aging in the bottle.
Gaja & Rey in the goblet is a beautiful straw colour with elegant golden reflections. The nose is complex with several notes that alternate with each other: ripe yellow fruit, citrus fruits, white and yellow flowers, vanilla and other sweet spices. In the mouth it is a wine of good structure, fresh and sapid with a good persistence that calls for another sip.
The Gaja & Rey is proof that the Gaja winery not only produces great red wines but can also be a reference point for fine white wines.
