Magari Ca' Marcanda 2006 Gaja
Magari 2006 is a Tuscan wine produced by Ca' Marcanda, the estate that Gaja bought in Tuscany from the Piedmontese company, motivated by the desire to embark on a new adventure in a different territory after the great success achieved in Piedmont. In the space of a few years, Angelo Gaja's Tuscan wines have imposed themselves on the attention of connoisseurs as some of the absolute best interpretations of the territory of the Tuscan coast, in the sign of elegance and expressive refinement.
The "Magari" Bolgheri Rosso of Ca' Marcanda is a classic Bordeaux blend, a Supertuscan, with a prevalence of Merlot, which gives the wine softness and ripe fruit, while smaller percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc provide structure and elegance. Fermentation is carried out separately according to the different ripening times of the grapes, while the wine is aged for a period of 18 months in French oak barriques.
To the eye the wine shows a beautiful intense ruby colour, to the nose it releases hints of small dark fruits, cherry, ripe plum, notes of wild herbs and minerals. The taste is well structured, with delicate tannins and good elegance. This great wine represents the perfect union between terroir and Gaja's style.
