Since the mid-20th century, Zárate has been a pioneer in the production of Albariño wine as it is known today. Proposals that try to remove it from family consumption and make its character known, first in the rest of Spain and then in the world. Furthermore, Ernesto Zárate was the founder of the Cambados Albariño Festival, a competition he would win in its first three consecutive years.
Ernesto carries on a production philosophy based on principles of natural winemaking, with the utmost respect for the environment also thanks to the support of Eulogio Pomares, who has been the winemaker of his cellar since 2000.
