DHONDT-GRELLET
Domaine Dhondt-Grellet, authentic Champagne from Cote des Blancs
Domaine Dhondt-Grellet is located in Flavigny, near Avize, in the heart of the Cote des Blancs. The company was founded in 1986 by Eric Dhondt and Edith Grellet, independent winemakers and proprietors whose aim is to produce elegant champagnes that respect the terroir.
The Domaine has around 7 hectares of vines of around 40 years of age in mainly Grands and Premiers Crus vineyards: Cramant, Chouilly, Cuis, as well as Sezanne for the Chardonnays and Avenay-Val-d'Or in the Grande Vallée de la Marne, for its great Pinot Noirs. Mainly located halfway up the coast on very light limestone soils, the plots benefit from excellent terroir and a south-eastern exposure.
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected when they reach optimal maturity to make wine from juices composed of natural sugars. Alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts. The addition of sulphur is limited in order not to mask the aromas and flavours of our Champagnes as they respect the fruit for the production of lively, authentic and territorial Champagnes.
