DOMAINE ALEXANDRE BAIN
The Loire by Alexandre Bain
Alexander Bain is a vigneron from the Loire Valley, in particular from the Puilly Fumè area, near the famous village of Sancerre. Alexandre's artistic and visionary personality is passionate about wine thanks to his grandfather and decides to enroll in the wine school of Beaune, in Burgundy, for the price of his passion for wine and his work.
Alexandre Bain immediately laid the foundations of his work following the principles of biodynamic and sustainable agriculture: the plowing of the land takes place through his root horse. The Domaine stands out from the others for the choice to carry out a postponed harvest, this to allow the perfect ripening of the grapes and the adequate development of their aromatic equipment. This careful work then continues in the cellar, where the interventions are minimal and the synthetic chemicals prohibited, as well as the addition of sulphites when bottling.
All this has the aim of preserving the innate characteristics of the grapes and maintaining the most authentic terroir of this corner of Loire, where the main grape variety is Sauvignon Blanc, which has always been the most prized white grape variety in this area. The Domaine Alexandre Bain now includes 11 hectares of vineyards and produces rich and enveloping bottles.
