FEUDI DI SAN GREGORIO
Feudi di Sn Gregorio, fine wines from Campania
Feudi di San Gregorio is an important winery in Campania, and is one of the entities that best represents the terroir of Irpinia, in the province of Avellino. Founded in 1986, Feudi di San Gregorio is also the symbol of the redevelopment of Southern Italian oenology, the result of a great study begun 20 years ago aimed at discovering the potential of the territory.
Today the company has about 300 hectares of vineyards, divided between its own and rented ones, distributed between the central nucleus located in the Sorbo Serpico area - where the company headquarters are also located - and the rest scattered among the municipalities of Tufo, Taurasi and Santa Paolina. The Feudi di San Gregorio vineyards are situated at altitudes between 350 and 700 metres above sea level and rest on volcanic soil. From a very particular terroir, meticulous work is carried out with great respect for the environment, with a company philosophy that refers to tradition while continuing along the path of research and technological innovation.
For example, the cellar was completely renovated in 2004, all the rooms are underground and have been built with low environmental impact. All this results in unique and territorial bottles that enhance the uniqueness of a local heritage of great value: wines such as Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Taurasi are now among the most important Italian denominations.
