LARMANDIER BERNIER
The Larmandier Bernier company was founded in 1988, the year in which Pierre Larmandier returned from Paris to carry on the family wine business located in the Vallée de la Marne, in the Champagne region. Today the Maison has 16 total hectares distributed in the municipalities of Vertus, and in the Grand Cru of Cramant, Choully, Avize and Orgerè. The mainly cultivated grape is Chardonnay, from vineyards over 40 years old. The company philosophy focuses on the production of bottles that are pure expression of the terroir, through a sustainable approach respectful of the territory and minimal yields. In fact, since 1992 the company has been converted into organic and subsequently, in 2004, to biodynamic agriculture. The Larmandier Bernier Champagnes express great territoriality and purity, through a job where the interventions in the vineyard and in the cellar are minimal, to allow the grapes to be able to better express their innate characteristics, such as minerality. Fermentations are spontaneous in wood and steel and the same goes for bottle refermentations. Pure and expressive high quality champagnes are the result of this passionate and meticulous work.
