Miani estate is located in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the locality of Buttrio, a historic area suitable for growing vines. Enzo Pontoni is the owner as well as winemaker of the estate, with a reserved personality but animated by a great passion for his work, inherited from his grandfather and his dad, who helped in the vineyard in his free time, until he decided to abandon his job for devote yourself completely to wine. So, towards the beginning of the 1980s, he decided to move production to better quality, giving the vines the opportunity to express themselves in a pure way, reflecting the terroir of origin. The subsoil consists of the famous Ponca Friuliana, rich in marl, which gives the wines an amazing set of mineral salts and great elegance, it is not for nothing that the best white wines of Italy are produced in this area. The Miani estate has 20 hectares divided between Buttrio, Rosazzo and Corno di Rosazzo, they are located at 150-300 meters above sea level. The mainly cultivated grapes are Friulano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Refosco. Traditional agriculture for the production of bottles with a precise identity, since in 2000 he decided to vinify the vines in purity. Vinification and aging take place in French barriques and tonneaux, without the use of steel, to preserve the original hints of the fruit. The love for his land and for his work, 15 years lived among his vineyards, lead to the production of bottles of character, pure expression of terroir.
