RUHLMANN
Ruhlmann-Schutz Vini D'Alsazia
The Alsatian winery Ruhlmann-Schutz has very ancient origins dating back to 1688, and over the years, generation after generation has expanded, to now cover an area of 40 hectares of vines which extends around Dambach-la- Villas and 4 surrounding municipalities, with 2 Grands Crus and Lieu-dits.
This geographical distribution, carried out over the generations, allows to adapt the grape variety to the terroir: Alsace is a region with a particular terroir where the soil is composed of granite, marl, sandstone and limestone. Furthermore, the climate is very favorable to the vines and thanks to the presence of the Vosges, which act as a barrier against the ocean currents, the Alsatian vineyards are the least irrigated in France.
The vines are traditionally worked and the wines, some of which come from Vieilles Vignes, express the territory in a pure and rich way, which gives it finesse and character.
In 2015 the family purchases a vineyard located south of Narbonne, in the city of Peyriac-de-Mer with the aim of producing Corbières red wines which will successfully complete the company's generous range of wines, mainly composed of white and by Crémant d'Alsaze.
