DOMAINE HUET

Domaine Huet Grandi Bottiglie

Domaine Huet, biodynamic wines from Loire Valley

Domaine Huet is a biodynamic winery in the Loire Valley, located in the heart of the Vouvray appellation. The Domaine has ancient origins that date back to 1928 when it was founded by Victor Huet and his son Gaston, pioneers of biodynamic agriculture in France.

The estate is even older, with roots dating back to 372 AD with the construction of the Monastery of Marmoutier. From 1976 to 2012 it was managed by Gaston's son in law, Noël Pinguet, who allowed Domain to be recognized for the production of Chenin Blanc demi-sec. In 2003 the winery was acquired by the Chinese Hwang family. Today the Domaine has 30 hectares of vineyards exclusively cultivated with Chenin Blanc, a white berried grape typical of Lora Valley. The 30 hectares are divided in three different historical plots: le Haut-Lieu, which spreads for 15 hectares on a soil of dark clay; le Mont, a vineyard renowned for its history and the longevity of its wines, characterized by a pebbly soil and green clay;

Clos du Bourg, one of the oldest vineyards of Vouvray which represents one of the Premiers Cru of the appellation and spreads for 6 hectares surrounded by walls, on a clay-limestone soil and a tufaceous subsoil. Clos du Bourg wines are intense and rich, suited for long aging, but they are also enjoyable when young.
