Barbaresco Asili 2012 Bruno Giacosa
Barbaresco Asili 2012 is a fine wine produced by the historical Piedmontese winery Bruno Giacosa. Barbaresco Asili is produced with pure Nebbiolo grapes coming from the historical and legendary cru Asili, compared by many to some Burgundy Grand Crus because of its capacity to give life to refined and elegant wines. Bruno Giacosa gives a classic interpretation of this wine: after an accurate manual selection of grapes, fermentation takes place in cement tanks and maceration lasts at least 3 weeks. Aging is traditionally done in large oak casks for about 24 months. Barbaresco Asili has a not too deep garnet red color. Very elegant nose of floral aromas of dog rose and violet followed by hints of licorice and raspberry. The taste is pretty balanced, smooth and at the same time a bit closed which indicates the long life this wine has in front of it.
