Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano 2014 Produttori del Barbaresco
Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano from the winery of the Producers of Barbaresco is a fine Italian wine, produced in the north-eastern part of the municipality of Barbaresco in one of the most renowned and important cru of the Barbaresco Docg denomination. It is a pleasant wine with spicy and smoky notes with nice persuasive tannins and a very persistent finish.
Barbaresco Montestefano is produced by the historic winery of the Producers of Barbaresco, a cooperative winery founded in 1958 that now brings together 50 farmers. The winery is famous because it is the only one to produce 9 different Barbaresco Docg reserves from 9 different Cru: Rabajà, Asili, Pora, Montestefano, Muncagota, Rio Sordo, Montefico, Pajé and Ovello. Over the years the Barbaresco Producers' cellar has become a reference point for lovers of Langhe wines and their bottles are the object of collection by enthusiasts from all over the world.
Barbaresco Montesefano Produttori del Barbaresco comes from vineyards exposed to the South between 200 and 400 meters above sea level on soils with a clayey bottom and rich in limestone. After manual harvesting, the wine ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 15-24 days, before starting ageing in wood for at least 36 months. After another 6 months of rest in the bottle, the wine is ready to be put on the market.
Barbaresco "Montestefano" is a wine dedicated to ageing, less austere than Barolo, but certainly more ready to drink; we are dealing with an elegant and full-bodied, structured, complex and full bodied wine.
When young it shows fruity characteristics, which then evolve towards aromas of violets, dried flowers and spices. With ageing the bouquet reveals a great richness, a pleasant breadth and an important elegance.
