MONTI PAOLO
Monti Paolo, Barolo producers in Monforte d'Alba
The history of Monti started in 1996, when Paolo Monti from Turin, passionate wine lover and intent on pursuing a career as a winemaker, amoung different areas of Barolo, realizes that Monforte is the place that can give him more opportunities for his new business, and in 1996 he acquired an estate in the area of San Sebastiano, south of Manforte d'Alba, which responds to his ideals of business.
Together with his winemaker friend Roberto Gerbino, they decide to buy 10 French barriques and begin making wine. They experience the production of Barbera which will be marketed two years later.
Today, Monti Paolo has 18 hectares between indigenous and international vines: from the traditional Barbera and Nebbiolo d'Alba, to the Barolo from grand cru of Monforte d'Alba, Bussia and Bricco san Pietro, supported by the production of international vines such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in the San martino area, used for making bland, sush as for the production of Langhe Merlot, or east of the areas where good temperature ranges allow the production of Chardonnay and Riesling used to make an elegant long-aging white wine .
Through the 10 labels proposed, the company tells us about its philosophy based on the excellence of the wines, quality that is sought first in the vineyard, then in the cellar, but at the same time their dynamism, the desire to experiment and keep up with the times.
