Barolo "Marcenasco" 2017 Ratti
The Barolo "Marcenasco" is a fine Italian wine produced by Renato Ratti. The grapes come from the municipality of La Morra from a single cru, the Marcenasco vineyard. This label is historical because it represents the first attempt made by Ratti in 1965 to produce Barolo from a single parcel, when at the time it was produced only by assembling several vineyards. The cru rests on a particularly precious soil: the so-called marbles of Sant'Agata mixed with fine sands and clays. The Barolo "Marcenasco" by Renato Ratti is made from hand-picked grapes in the first part of October. They ferment at 30 ° C, with maceration on the skins for about 7-10 days. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels, after which it remains in refinement for about 24 months in large oak barrels of 25 and 50 hectoliters, before being bottled. The "Marcenasco" shows a ruby red color tending to garnet; The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruit, floral notes of rose, undergrowth, spicy hints of licorice and tobacco, of oriental spices with hints of balsamic hints. In the mouth it is full, intense and generous with a solid and robust tannin and a beautiful freshness that makes it pleasant.
