Champagne Vintage Reserve 2008 Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin
Vintage Reserve is a brut champagne vintage, one of the flagship cuvée of the historic Maison Veuve Clicqout Ponsardin, made with grapes from terroir Grand Cru and Premier Cru among the most prestigious in the Champagne region. The cuvée is created with all three varieties cultivated in the region from the best villages, Chardonnay from Le-Mesnil, Oger and Vertus; Pinot Meunier from Ludes and Dizy and Pinot Noir from Ambonnay, Bouzy, Tauxières, Avenay and Ay.
Vintage Reserve Champagne is produced only in the best vintages, since the Maison was established in 1810, there are little more than 60 vintages produced, this in order to preserve the high quality of the cuvée. Vinification is done in steel tanks and a small part in oak casks and aging on lees, according to Champenoise method, lasts almost 6 years.
Brut Vintage Reserve 2008 releases in the glass aromas of yellow fruit, notes of pear, almonds, cookies and yeasts. In the mouth there is a great balance between minerality and fullness of the sip with a very long savory finish. A champagne of great class with excellent aging potential to match with fish dishes or white meat.
