Chateau de Chambrun Lalande Pomerol 2005 Chateau de Chambrun
Chateau de Chambrun Lalande Pomerol 2005 is a fine wine from Bordeaux produced by Chateau de Chambrun. Chateau de Chambrun is located in the "Lalande de Pomerol" appellation area not far from the more famous Chateau Petrus and Chateau Evangile, and the wine of the same name is made from about 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, from vines grown on a terroir rich in sand, gravel and clay. The wine matures for 16 months in 75% new wood and 25% 1-year old wood barrels. This Chateau de Chambrun 2000 is a Bordeaux wine with a truly extraordinary quality/price ratio: it expresses itself to the eye with a dark, intense and impenetrable red colour, with very slight garnet hues. The rich bouquet is composed of hints of black fruits (blackberries and blueberries) together with spices, notes of incense and undergrowth for a balsamic and mentholated finish. The taste is soft and enveloping with tannins still present.
