Montemarino 2018 Cascina degli Ulivi
Cascina degli Ulivi's Montemarino 2018 is a natural wine from Piedmont produced by Cascina degli Ulivi. It is made from vines over 60 years old resting on calcareous soils. Both in the vineyard and in the cellar biodynamic farming methods are used, keeping yields very low and respecting the environment as much as possible, even replacing chemicals with natural preparations, at the limit small amounts of copper and sulphur. The Montemarino 2018 shows in the glass an intense straw yellow colour with golden reflections. The nose expresses a complex and layered bouquet of ripe fruit, hazelnut, caramel and saline hints. The sip is deep, rich and fascinating but at the same time animated by a lovely saline liveliness. A great white wine produced by a sensitive and visionary winemaker who represents a model for the biodynamic movement in Piedmont.
