Monterosso: natural Etna winesThe Monterosso company is located in the heart of Etna, in particular the vineyards are located on the South East side of the volcano. They are grown according to organic agriculture, careful and respectful of nature and this aspect, together with a very particular terroir (soils of Pozzolana Rossa) and the centenary vines with a free foot allow the wines to express all the characteristics of the territory of origin.
Monte Rosso takes its name from the characteristic reddish color of the soil, of volcanic origin. Today it is possible to enjoy this spectacle: on the sides and inside this extinct crater, there are the ancient vineyards with free foot cultivated as a sapling with the classic chestnut pole.
Here the south-east exposure allows the vineyards to be sunny and the typical lava stone terraces help to make the most of the particular microclimate: the proximity to the coast allows the vineyards to be caressed by the sea breeze, the frequent rain, the altitude and the volcanic soil in Pozzolana Rossa which gives wonderful mineral scents, give rise to wines that are pure and uncontaminated expression of the terroir of origin.
