Rosso di Montepulciano Prugnolo 2019 Poderi Boscarelli
Rosso di Montepulciano Prugnolo 2019 is a Tuscan red wine produced by Poderi Boscarelli. It is made from a blend of Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) for 90% to give the fruit and Mammolo for 10% to give the wine its characteristic spicy notes, which come from the youngest vineyards located in Cervognano, resting on calcareous soils of alluvial origin, with the presence of sand, silt and clay. Harvesting is by hand, fermentation takes place spontaneously in steel vats with indigenous yeasts, at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for about a week. Finally, the wine is aged for a few months in vitrified cement tanks. Prugnolo Rosso di Montepulciano Boscarelli is a lively and fruity wine, very pleasant to drink. It shows a beautiful bright ruby red colour, while the nose releases flowery and fruity aromas of ripe red berries, spices and notes of undergrowth. The taste is medium structured, with silky tannins and a nice freshness.
