Barbera d'Alba Vigna Gabutti 2013 Cappellano
Cappellano's Barbera d'Alba Gabutti is one of those typical Piedmontese wines capable of best representing the Langhe territory from which they are born. Cappellano is one of the great names that more than others succeeded in exporting in the world the name of Piedmont wine and its wines, almost precious, are looked for by wine lovers from all over the globe.
Barbera Gabutti Cappellano is produced with 100% Barbera grapes, cultivated in the historical Gabutti vineyard in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. All processes in the vineyard are strictly manual, a careful selection allows only the best bunches to reach the winery. Alcoholic fermentation, according to tradition, takes place spontaneously in large cement tanks for at least 20 days before malolactic fermentation in tonneau, where the wine will age for another 40 months.
Barbera di Cappellano shows an intense ruby red color, to the nose it releases a complex and intense bouquet, with notes of blackberries, raspberries and wood spices, a typical wine of Langa! On the palate it is a full-bodied, rich and intense wine, balanced, however, by a great freshness and flavor. A great Piedmontese fine wine from a historic winery.
