Barbera d'Alba Vigna Vecchia Scarrone 2018 Vietti
Barbera d'Alba Vigna Vecchia Scarrone 2018 is a fine Piedmontese red wine from Vietti. It is made from 100% Barbera grapes from the oldest part of the vineyard located in Castiglione Falletto in the Scarrone area, with a south-eastern exposure.
The already limited yield resulting from the age of the vines is further reduced by careful selection of the best grapes. Vinification was carried out with pre-fermentative cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation lasted about two weeks in steel vats, with continuous pressing and pumping over. After alcoholic fermentation, post-fermentation maceration with the skins takes place, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques.
The wine matures for about 18 months in barriques, barrels and steel. It has a beautiful ruby red colour with intense aromas of ripe red and black cherries, vanilla and nuances of brown spice, for a very fresh and structured sip.
