Sandrone Barolo Aleste 2014
Luciano Sandrone's Barolo Aleste is one of the most iconic wines of the Langhe panorama. A robust red wine, endowed with great olfactory complexity and, like all great Piedmontese red wines, is endowed with great longevity, it is a Barolo Docg that can defy time and evolve in the bottle for 15/20 years.
Aleste Luciano Sandrone Barolo is also known as Barolo Cannubi Boschis, in fact the grapes all come from that cru, it was Luciano Sandrone who gave it the name Aleste by merging together the initials of his grandchildren. The vines from which it is born are all at least 35 years old, they are fermented in steel containers while the malolactic fermentation takes place in large oak barrels. Refinement takes place in tonneaux for 24 months followed by a period of bottle ageing for another 18 months before being put on sale.
Aleste Barolo is a fine wine that is garnet red in color, like all the best Barolo has a complex bouquet of underbrush, violets and notes of spices. In the mouth it is rich and structured with silky tanini and a good freshness to balance it all, the finish is very long.
A splendid wine this Barolo Sandrone, to be tasted at least once in a lifetime.
