Barolo Pié Rupestris 2012 Cappellano
Barolo Piè Rupestris 2012 is a fine wine from Piedmont produced by Cappellano. The grapes come from one of the most renowned crus of Serralunga d'Alba: the Gabutti, a small vineyard of 1.5 hectares, from very old vines over 60 years of age. The refinement takes place for 18 months in large barrels, without any filtration. Cappellano's Rupestris is undoubtedly a traditional-style Barolo: austere and powerful, it has an intense garnet color, with orange reflections that will increase over time. The nose is complex and fascinating with notes of licorice, wild rose and violet, red fruits in alcohol. Over time the bouquet expands with aromas of undergrowth and leather. The sip is sublime: the hardness (freshness, tannin and flavor), blend with the softness for a balance that will express itself at its best only after years, for a very long persistence.
