Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Beerenauslese 2006 Dr. Thanisch
Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Beerenauslese 2006 is a fine German wine from the Moselle region produced by Dr. Thanisch. We are in the village of Bernkastel-Kues, medieval gem on the Moselle river which is also registered as the wine capital of this area. Here the climate is extreme since there are on the 50th parallel, the limit for the cultivation of grapes where the absolute protagonist is Riesling. In the dry or sweet version, the Rieslings of the Moselle are among the most interesting wines in the world for their aromatic equipment where the unmistakable hint of Hydrocarbons stands out, for their elegance and incredible predisposition in all years. The Berncasteler Doctor Riesling 2006 is part of the Beerenauslese wine category, sweet wines attacked by Botrytis Cinerea. This noble mold attacks and puts a concentration of sugars and the enrichment of an incredible, elegant aromatic kit. This together with the acidity with which Riesling is endowed, offers elegantly balanced sweet wines, never cloying. When poured, you immediately notice the density of this wine which shows a bright golden color with some hints of amber. Identifying but very delicate scents: first of all hydrocarbons, ripe and tropical yellow fruit, orange peel, a hint of honey. On the palate it is soft and sweet, wraps the mouth with a fruity note and turns towards a refreshing mineral finish. The perfect pairing is with blue cheeses that can withstand the aromatic content of this wine destined for a very long life, 2006 is still very young!
