Carignano del Sulcis Superiore "Terre Brune" 2002 Santadi
Carignano del Sulcis Terre Brune is the iconic wine of the Santadi winery, an energetic and tannic red made from indigenous grapes, a very territorial Sardinian red, a sip of Mediterranean scrub!
The grapes from which this Carignano Superiore "Terre Brune" is obtained come from vineyards with a "pié franco", that is not affected by phylloxera, cultivated with sapling; the grapes, 95% Carignano and 5% Bovaleddu, are harvested manually, are fermented in steel and then aged in French oak barrels for 16 months and then 12 months in bottle.
Terre Brune is a Carignano del Sulcis Superiore of ruby red color, the nose is complex with notes of fruit jam, sweet spices and Mediterranean scrub; in the mouth it is powerful and enveloping with a beautiful tannic texture, very balanced and long. It is a wine with an important structure, which therefore requires gastronomic combinations that enhance its qualities; excellent to try with game and red meat dishes prepared in stew: you will not regret it!
