Champagne Collection 1988 Krug
Champagne Collection 1988 is a fine Champagne produced by the Maison Krug. All of Krug's vintage wines are re-presented in Collection versions, very limited bottles endowed with rare value, which are coveted by collectors from all over the World.
The Krug Collection 1988 is the second life of Krug 1988, bottled in 2017, a Champagne characterised by great elegance, creaminess and persistence. The cuvée is composed of 50% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay and 18% Pinot Meunier from 21 different villages in the region. It is aged for about 30 years in the bottle to offer today a thousand facets of depth and refinement.
This Krug Collection 1988 opens in the glass with an intense golden yellow colour and an extremely fine perlage, numerous and persistent. The nose enchants with a harmonious blend of orange blossom, apples, white flowers and then honey, spices and dried fruit, together with gourmant notes of melted butter and brioche. The sip is fresh and refined, yet powerful with aromas of orange, spices and notes of caramel, dark chocolate and coffee. A very long finish that ends on a spicy and mineral note.
