Champagne Extra Brut Les Carelles Jacques Selosse
The Champagne Extra Brut Les Carelles is a fine Blanc de Blancs Champagne produced by Jacques Selosse. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the Grand Cru Le Mesnil sur Oger vineyards, a terroir that gives the wines complexity of aromas and power, and is one of Selosse's lieux dits, that is, those parts of particular value that are vinified individually. The refinement of the base wine, previously assembled from various vintages, takes place in barrique and after the second fermentation in the bottle it ages for about 48 months on the lees. Of an intense and bright yellow color that turns towards golden, it has an elegant and persistent perlage. The nose is very complex, it expresses a beautiful bouquet of toasted almonds, coffee, acacia honey, yeasts, fruity aromas. In the mouth it is rich and powerful, perfectly balanced between creaminess and freshness and flavor, with a very long sip. It is a unique and exciting bottle, to drink on special occasions.
