Champagne Rosé Grand Cru Jacques Selosse
Considered as one of the best rosé wines around, Champagne Rosé Selosse is a continuous surprise in the glass, deep and full with the characteristic oxidative nuances now a trademark of the winery.
Selosse is one of the most esteemed and imitated recoltant manipulant of the Champagne region, thanks to its wines which are intentionally out of the schemes and come from vineyards cultivated in a biodynamic way, grapes harvested only when fully ripe in order to release all what each grape contains. Selosse Rosé is produced from a cuvée of 90% Chardonnay from Avize and 10% Pinot Noir from Ambonnay and Verzy, after manual harvesting the grapes are brought to the winery after a spontaneous fermentation in barrique thanks to indigenous yeasts. The base wines which will be blended in the cuvée belong to more vintages, according to the soleras method, in order to keep a constant taste over time. After the refermentation in bottle follows an aging of 36 months in yeasts.
Selosse's Rosé Grand Cru is presented in the glass in a delicate pale pink color with a lively and persistent perlage, the nose is a real whirlwind of aromas, it starts with wild strawberries, custard, rhubarb, pink pepper, orange peel, walnut and countless other notes always different. In the mouth, it is full and concentrated with endless persistence.
