Description

"Crus of Beaujolais" Tasting Box

The Beaujolais is known for its wines to be drunk young, wines that are bottled immediately after the harvest characterized by youthful freshness and simplicity in their structure, fruity and fragrant wines to be drunk daily.

But this terroir is also capable of unveiling surprises: the wines produced from its 10 main crus have all the characteristics to be called great wines, including an unexpected tendency to aging.

WHAT IT CONTAINS:

Morgon 2018 Domaine des Terres Dores

It is made from 100% Gamay grapes and is an excellent introduction to the world of this grape, the most important and representative red grape of Beaujolais.

This wine expresses to the eye an elegant garnet red color. It has a subtle yet concentrated nose offering aromas of red and black fruits such as blackberry and cherry. Open and with lots of depth, the palate is composed of rich ripe fruits. The structure is well balanced with hints of pepper and fresh acidity. Notes of kirsch can be detected on the finish with toasty and woody complexities.

Regnie 2018 Guy Breton

It is produced with 100% Gamay grapes from 35 to 100 years old vineyards, which were planted by Guy Breton's grandfather on the hills between Côte de Brouilly and Côte du Py of Morgon. The terroir is very particular because the soil is shallow, made of sand and decomposed stones, therefore the roots easily reach the rocks underneath, giving a great aromatic richness to the wines which are more direct and acid than the terroir of Morgon. This Régnié Beaujolais shows a beautiful and luminous ruby red color; to the nose it releases aromas of ripe fruit, coming from the sandy soil, after which it is the granite subsoil to come out with a fan of mineral salts. After all, Régnié vineyards are located high on a slope between Brouilly and Morgon, therefore we get the aroma of the former and the structure and minerality of the latter.

Fleurie "Clos de la Grand Cour" 2019 Dutraive

It is made from 100% Gamay grapes from the Fleurie area. The Fleurie appellation is one of the most renowned in Beaujolais, and the wines that are part of it tend to be characterised by great aromaticity and a remarkable predisposition to ageing.

Vinification is carried out in the traditional way according to the principles of organic certification, which the winery acquired in 2009, but of which they have always been supporters.

It ages one third in oak barrels, one third in stainless steel and one third in oak foudre, and is a straightforward, rustic wine that at the same time has a beautiful complexity. The nose expresses floral and fruity scents, the taste is broad, fresh and soft with a nice spicy finish.
