Favinia Passulé 2014 Firriato
Favinia Passulé 2014 is a Sicilian passito wine produced by Firriato. Produced from Zibibbo grapes from the Calamoni vineyard which grows a few meters from the sea on the island of Favignana. The vineyard covers just over 5 hectares, bordered by dry stone walls. The harvest is followed by the transport of the bunches in wooden crates through the boats of the fishermen who, from the island, take them to dry land. The prized Favinia Passulé is characterized by an intense and complex nose of brackish hints with balsamic notes, together with aromas of candied orange, dates, dried figs, sage and lemongrass. In the mouth it is soft and sweet, compensated by the saline notes that balance the sweetness of this passito wine with a bright golden color tending to amber. Ideal combination with dry pastries, Sicilian almond paste desserts.
