Fluerie "Cuvée Vieilles Vignes" Le Clos 2019 Dutraive
Fleurie "Cuvée Vieilles Vignes" Le Clos 2019 is a French Beaujolais wine made by Dutraive. It is one of the most complex and deepest labels it makes, but also one of the slowest wines to evolve in the glass.
It is made from about 80 year old Gamay vines from ClosDe la Grand Cour, the Domaine's monopole, on a small plateau of 300 where the soil is deeper and gives the wine similar acidity to Pinot Noir. The nose has tension with fresh orange fruit of persimmons and kumquats. Dried roses and purple flowers with wild, fresh red fruits slowly emerge for the patient drinker.
All of Jean-Louis' wines are made with whole clusters, zero extraction and natural fermentations. The grapes were vinified in concrete tanks then the wines were aged in oak barrels for 8 months.
