Friulian 2019 Bastianich
Friulano 2019 is a fine white wine produced by Bastianich. The grapes come from the vineyards located in the hilly areas of Premariccio, Cividale del Friuli and Prepotto, with east and south-east exposures, on soils consisting of limestone and sandstone marl, the famous Friulian ponca, rich in mineral salts. The vineyards are located between 100 and 180 meters above sea level. The Alps protect the vineyards from the cold winds and the Mediterranean heat is mitigated by the breezes that rise from the Adriatic Sea. After the harvest, fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18° C for 15-20 days. Before bottling, the wine ages for six months on the lees in steel, to acquire greater body and structure. The Friuliano di Bastianich is in fact a rich and medium-bodied wine, where the fruit is particularly enhanced with a beautiful bounquet of ripe yellow pulp fruit which is completed with herbaceous and almond notes. Then the mouth is invaded by a remarkable minerality coming from the geological characteristics of the terroir. The sip is full, picks up the fruit, soft, but balanced by great freshness and ends with a long and elegant saline trail.
