Gattinara "Valferana" Vineyard 2014 Nervi
Gattinara Vigneto "Valferana" 2014 is a fine wine from the Piedmontese Nervi. It is produced in the Upper Piedmont area, where Nebbiolo is traditionally called Spanna and is expressed with less power and richness than that cultivated in the Langhe, but with great elegance and predisposition to aging. In particular, the grapes that make up this label derive from the "Valferana" vineyard where the soils of ancient volcanic origin enrich the grapes with mineral scents, and the cool climate allows good acidity to develop. Valferana was born from the idea of Nervi to vinify one of the best plots of the estate separately, which offers fresh and mineral wines with a great personality. The vineyards are over 30 years old and are located at a height of 320 meters above sea level. Nervi's Gattinara "Valferana" shows a ruby red color with garnet hues. The nose expresses a complex bouquet of small red berried fruits, orange peel, medicinal herbs and mineral salts. In the mouth it is austere and deep flowing, with thick but subtle tannins, a fresh and mineral finish.
