Les Annes Folles Pinot D'Aunis and Chenin Ancestrale 2018 Robinot
Les Annes Folles Pinot D'aunis and Chenin Ancestrale 2018 is a natural French sparkling wine from the Loire region, produced by Robinot. An alternative character and eclectic winemaker, always passionate about natural wines, Jean Pierre Robinot in the 80s puts up the Ange Vin in Paris, among the first wine shops of natural wines in the city. Years later he started writing for a magazine "Le Rouge et Blanc" which soon became the Bible for all natural wine lovers. In 2001 he sold the wine shop and returned to the Loire where he decided to take the big step of starting to produce wine. Today it has 10 hectares, divided into different areas, which are located halfway between Tours and Le Mans, near the Sarthe river, a tributary of the Loire. Pineau d’Aunis, Chenin Blanc and Gamay are the protagonists of the "Domaine de L’Ange Vin". "L'Opera des Vins" indicates the wines obtained from grapes purchased from neighboring vignerons, personally and carefully selected. Robinot wines ferment for a long time, from 2 to 4 years, exclusively with indigenous yeasts and the refinements take place in old used barrels. Its products are free of sulphites (VINS S.A.I.N.S "sans aucun intrant ni sulfites ajoutes"). In addition to all this, to make Robinot's wines unique are the labels that are changed every year, the result of his paintings or photographs. Les Annes Folles Pinot D'Aunis and Chenin 2018 is an ancestral sparkling wine based on these two typical Loire vines: Chenin Blanc has great aging potential and gives wines aromas and great freshness, while Pinot d'Aunis gives structure and depth, together with a great finesse. The grapes come from vines that are found on clay, limestone and siliceous soils. Fermented in the bottle, blossomed "la volèe" after 24 months on its lees, zero dosage, with no added sulphites. The pink color is given by a short maceration with the Pineau d'Aunis. Les Annes Folles is a lively, elegant, tense, very fresh wine with a very fine bubble. Good aging potential. To be drunk immediately or to be stored for a few years in the cellar. Recommended pairing with appetizer meats, risotto, white meats, fresh cheeses, fries and sushi.
