Pommard 1st cru Les Rugiens 2014 Domaine Lejeune
Pommard 1er cru Les Rugiens 2014 is a natural wine produced by the Domaine Lejeune. It comes from Pinot Noir grapes which are grown in the territory of Pommard, in the vineyard facing south / east; here the vines have an average age of 45 years and rest on clayey-calcareous soils with deep soils rich in rock. The harvest is manual, the best grapes are carefully selected; the vinification is of a traditional mold, with the use of indigenous yeasts and steel fermentations. Finally, the wine undergoes maturation in new barriques for 65/75% of the mass, in barriques used for the remaining 25/35% for a total duration of 20 months. Ruby red, this Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens 2014 shows a complex nose of red fruit, accompanied by hints of undergrowth, rhubarb and marked minerality. On the palate it is very elegant, soft with silky but at the same time fresh tannins, for a long persistent finish. Perfect if paired with meat dishes such as beef and game.
