CHATEAU-FIGEAC
Château-Figeac, fine wines from Bordeaux
Château-Figeac is a famous winery in Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion, whose origins date back to the 2nd century AD. The winery is run by the Manoncourt family, who, after buying the estate back in 1892, continue to pass on the traditions from generation to generation.
The first vintage bearing the Manoncourt label was bottled in 1943, and in 1955 the composition of the blend was established, which they strive to respect with every harvest, with 30% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend that today identifies what has come to be known as the "Figeac style". The wines of Château-Figeac come from over forty hectares of vines, cultivated using sustainable methods that fully respect the environment, together with a company philosophy that blends tradition and innovation:
In the winery, without ever overriding local winemaking traditions, modern technological equipment is used and investments are made in studies and research so that, for example, Château-Figeac was among the first to introduce steel fermentation vats and to use temperature control. In this way, labels of great class and elegance with great ageing potential are created.
