EGLY-OURIET
Egly-Ouriet, authentic Champagne from Ambonnay
Egly-Ouriet is a family business in Ambonnay, a renowned Grand Cru commune in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in Champagne, where Pinot Noir reigns supreme. Now in its fourth family generation, the Domaine has 11.5 hectares under vine, with plants between 40 and 60 years old, most of which are reserved for the cultivation of Pinot Noir, except for two hectares for Chardonnay and two for Pinot Meunier.
In addition to the vineyards located in Ambonnay, Egly-Ouriet owns land in Bouzy, Verzenay (both Grand Cru communes of the Montagne de Reims) and in Vrigny, where there is a Premier Cru vineyard of two hectares, from which a pure Pinot Meunier Champagne is produced. The production philosophy is based on the utmost respect for the environment, nature and the ecosystem, so that extremely sustainable agronomic practices are adopted, which involve minimal human intervention and are based, at the same time, on ancient local traditions.
In the winery, the same practices are used as in the vineyard, with the aim of intervening as little as possible artificially, so as to create authentic wines that preserve the original characteristics of the fruit. All the cuvées rest for at least three years in the cellar before being put on the market, and the dosage of sugar after disgorging is always minimal. The result is a range of pure, complex and territorial Champagnes of the highest quality.
