Saumur Rouge 2017 Guiberteau
Saumur Rouge 2017 is a natural wine produced by Guiberteau. This entry level introduces us well to the company's range of reds, all based on Cabernet Franc grapes, the most representative red grape of the Loire. The company philosophy is based precisely on the exaltation of the region's terroir, in particular of Saumur, with wines that are produced with full respect for the soil in a totally natural way. This Saumur Rouge 2017 has an intense ruby red color, with reflections tending to purplish. This is because it is still young and we can verify it from the nose, where in spite of everything it already expresses very distinct spicy and juniper berries notes, together with licorice, ripe red fruits (morello cherry). The mouth is also lively and fresh, with elegant floral aromas of rose and violet, fruits that return to the palate, acidity present but already well balanced. Long sip that ends in a slightly spicy finish. It can be accompanied with not too elaborate meat dishes.

Natural wines derive from the cultivation of vines treated exclusively with copper and sulfur (in limited quantities), compost of biodynamic and natural origin, respecting the growth and ripening cycles strictly dictated by nature, in order to obtain naturally healthy, strong and able to defend themselves against parasites. As for winemaking, natural wines are brought to maturity without the addition of any supporting chemicals or selected yeasts, allowing the course of spontaneous maceration of sugar and sulphites of the grapes to take place in a completely natural way.
