Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes" 2018 Francois Bertheau
Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes" 2018 is a fine French wine from the Burgundy region produced by Francois Bertheau. The main purpose of this company is to produce wines that best express the territoriality, which is why we work in compliance with the terroir with minimal intervention in the vineyard where the yields are very low, no manipulation in the cellar, minimum use of new wood for aging . All Francois Bertheau wines carry out fermentation in steel or cement, with the exception of the base product which partly ferments in wooden barrels, all of which are then refined in oak barrels of which only 10% is new wood.
This Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes" comes from the 0.66-hectare Les Charmes vineyard where 50-year-old plants grow on a predominantly limestone marl. Here is the vineyard that speaks, which expresses through the wine all the territoriality and the original hints of the grape: the wine appears at the sight of an intense and bright ruby red color, with violet reflections. The nose is distinctly intense and recalls the aromaticity of the Chambolle Musigny terroir with a bouquet of spices, hints of incense, red flowers and small red fruits such as wild strawberry and blackberries. In the mouth we find the aromatic complexity of the nose, spices and fruit harmonize in the mouth with a velvety tannin for a dense and very long sip. A majestic, complex, refined wine that can undoubtedly be categorized within the classical school of Chambolle Musigny where the predominant element that characterizes these wines is finesse, elegance and aroma.
