Champagne Cristal 2012 Louis Roederer
Cristal is undoubtedly one of the most famous Champagnes in the world and the 2012 cuvée does justice to its name and fame.
The cuvée Champagne Cristal is vinified only in great vintages, when the ripening of the grapes is perfect and every piece of the puzzle of a vintage, rains, sun and wind, is set in the right place, 20012 was a continental vintage, loaded and powerful even if the strangely cool temperatures of the summer have given this vintage an intense and salty freshness.
The 2012 Cristal is a blend of 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir, with a dosage of 8 g/l and was aged in bottle for 10 years before disgorgement and a rest period of another 8 months in bottle.
In the glass the champagne shows an amber color with green and orange hues, with a fine and regular perlage, on the nose Cristal 2012 offers an intense and very complex bouquet ranging from citrus fruits to yellow fruits, from pear to toasted almond. In the mouth it is an explosion, powerful and sweet, fresh and pure, with a saline finish bewitching.
Champagne Cristal 2012 is a fantastic Champagne, complete and immense, tastable even now but with a few years of bottle could become heavenly.
