WHAT IT CONTAINS:
Chardonnay "Peugh Vineyard" 2016, Anthill Farms: This is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the Peugh vineyard, located within the Russian River Valley appellation on the plains that make up the northwestern outskirts of Santa Rosa. The vines rest on a very unique terroir of faded brown soils, called Huichica loam, from very old vines whose age is not well known, but some of them were planted in the early 1940s, making them some of the oldest Chardonnay production in the state. Deep straw yellow in color with golden highlights, this 2016 Peugh Vineyard Chardonnay expresses a nose of tropical fruit aromas such as pineapple, honey and spice, to tasty notes of cream and vanilla. The sip is intense and fruity, with a nice dose of acidity and length.
Puoilly Fuissé "Les Cras" 2017, Denogent: A really interesting Chardonnay from the Pouilly Fuissè appellation, from one of the most renowned wineries in the Mâconnais. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes and shows a lovely deep straw yellow color, with an intense nose of flowers and white-fleshed fruits, yeasty and pastry aromas, with a delicately mineral finish. In the mouth is smooth and fruity, rich with hints of butter and yeasts which had been perceived by the nose.
