Domaine Tortochot's Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St. Jacques 1st Cru is a French red wine from Burgundy that represents an excellence of the territory: in fact the most famous Premiers Crûs in Gevrey-Chambertin are located right on the Côte Saint Jacques. This area has long been recognized as one of the most renowned areas of Gevrey-Chambertin and of the whole Côte de Nuits for the cultivation of pinot noir. The vineyards are exposed to the south and grow on soils rich in fine limestone, which give the wines elegant and refined hints of mineral salts. Ruby red in color, the nose expresses elegant and fruity aromas of small red fruits, currants, raspberries and wild strawberries. The enveloping sip and good structure, with silky tannins and a pleasant freshness. Persistent finish.

Domaine Tortochot is located in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Brigitte and Chantal Tortochot guide the reins of the company with the utmost respect for the traditions of Burgundy: low yields, organic farming is practised in the vineyard where the only fertilisers given to the soil are biodynamic preparations. Harvesting is manual, fermentation is spontaneous and the wines are aged in 100% new barriques for the Grands Crus, 50% for the Premier Cru and 25% for the Villages for a period of 15 to 18 months. The wines of the domaine Tortochot are products of the highest quality from prestigious terroirs.
