Hermitage 2018 is a fine wine from the Rhone Valley produced by Dard et Ribo. It is made from 100% Syrah grapes grown biodynamically, and is aged in medium casks for a year and a half. It is a wine that expresses a complex nose of smoky, orange peel and fresh fruit, for a rich, deep and creamy but balanced by a mineral sip.

Hermitage 2018 Dard et Ribo

Hermitage 2018 is a fine wine from the Rhone Valley produced by Dard et Ribo. This Hermitage Rouge is made from Syrah grapes grown in their own vineyards located in Tain l'Hermitage, all of which are worked according to biodynamic principles. The harvest is done by hand with great care taken to select the best grapes, while in the cellar the bunches are 90% destemmed, while the remaining non-de-stemmed part will develop spontaneous fermentation using only indigenous yeasts; maceration lasts 20 days and ageing takes place in 500-litre barrels for over a year and a half. Dard et Ribo's Hermitage 2018 shows a fascinating ruby red colour, while the nose expresses a bouquet composed of smoky, orange peel and fresh fruit notes, for a rich, deep and creamy but balanced by a mineral sip.

Dard & Ribo is a company formed by two friends Jean Rene Dard and Francois Ribo in the early 80's. Starting from a single hectare of land in the village of Mercul, the two, year after year and vintage after vintage, have established themselves in the world wine scene as excellence in Rhone wines. Already from the first harvest the two have embraced the philosophy of natural wines, spontaneous fermentations, no addition of sulphur dioxide, no temperature control and no chemical intervention in the vineyard. Natural wines that enhance the peculiarities of a unique terroir like the Rhone.
