Les Onglés 2018 Domaine Stephane Bernaudeau
Les Onglés 2018 is a French white wine from the Loire Valley produced by Domaine Bernaudeau. It is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes, a white grape variety typical of the region, and is an extremely territorial wine, true to both the type of grape and the hand of Bernaudeau. The Chenin Blanc grapes come from a vineyard of 1.5 hectares from vines about 40 years old on shale soil.
Stephane Bernaudeau is a non-conformist winemaker who works by trying to distinguish himself from conventional viticulture, adopting biodynamic principles and refusing the appellation of origin, in fact this bottle is classified as "Vin de France" by his own choice. After harvesting and soft pressing the grapes, the wine ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and is aged for 12 months in used oak barrels on its lees.
This Les Onglés 2018 from Domaine Bernaudeau, produced in limited quantities, shows an intense straw yellow colour in the glass. The nose expresses as its main characteristic a great minerality accompanied by fruity hints, while the sip is balanced between freshness and alcohol.
