Morgon Magnum 2017 Marcel Lapierre
Morgon 2017 is a Beaujolais red wine produced by Marcel Lapierre using natural methods. It is made from pure Gamay grapes grown in Villié-Morgon in Beaujolais, from vines over sixty years old cultivated according to biodynamic farming principles on sandy soils with granite schists.
Harvesting is manual, fermentation, preceded by carbonic maceration, is spontaneous with only indigenous yeasts and takes place in stainless steel tanks for 10-20 days. The wine ages for about nine months in oak barrels before bottling, without any addition of sulfites.
The 2019 Morgon from Domaine Marcel Lapierre shows a deep ruby red color to the eye; the nose expresses a mouthwatering bouquet of small red fruits, cherry and floral notes of violet, with hints of licorice. The sip is straight and fresh, pleasant to drink. A very expressive and territorial label produced by a historic Beaujolais winery.
