Vin de France Rouge "La Cuvée du Chat 2020" Marcel Lapierre
Vin de France Rouge "La Cuvee du Chat 2020" is a red wine from Bourgogne of Beaujolais area produced in collaboration between Domaine Marcel Lapierre and Jean-Claude Chanudet, according to natural methods without sulfites or other chemical substances. It is produced from eighty years old Gamay vines, cultivated near Mont Brouilly, in the Rhône Valley, in a small plot of little more than one hectare on soil rich in granite.
After a first carbonic maceration, the alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks. The refinement foresees a rest of some months in used oak casks which confers softness and amplifies the olfactory range. Bottling is done without adding sulfur dioxide.
The "Cuvée du Chat" of Marcel Lapierre winery shows in the glass a delicate ruby red color, whereas to the nose it expresses a rich bouquet of small red berried fruits and dog rose, as well as less sweet aromas of wet earth and pepper which paint a very territorial bouquet. The sip is simple and pleasing, with little alcohol and lots of freshness.
