Primofiore Quintarelli 2018
Giuseppe Quintarelli's Primofiore is an Italian red wine born in the beautiful Valpolicella, a great expression of Veneto wines: elegant, rich in flavours and aromas. It was born from Giuseppe's desire to create a more international wine but with roots well planted in the territory. This nectar is the result, a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon with the native varieties of the area, Corvina and Corvinone, remaining faithful to the tradition of the territory, the drying of the grapes.
Il Primofiore is produced in the historic winery of Negrar, in Valpolicella, from vineyards planted on calcareous soil in the renowned Sant'Ambrogio a Montorio and Valgatara areas. It is the result of great attention in the vineyard and careful vinification, the Quintareli winery has always been a reference point for its wines that can tell the story of the territory, like its famous Amarone.
The Primofiore Quintarelli is made from grapes that are left to dry for about a month at the end of the harvest, before maturing for a year in large Slavonian wooden barrels. The glass is dark ruby red with garnet reflections. It releases floral notes of violet, aromas of cherry and ripe red fruit. In the mouth it is full-bodied, well-balanced with soft tannins and a grand finish that is sapid and spicy, rich and complex.
