DIDIER DAGUENEAU
Didier Dagueneau is one of the best producers of Loire, Domaine Dagueneau is located in the eastern part of Loire Valley, north from Pouilly-sur-Loire where Sauvignon Blanc, here called blanc fumé, absolutely reigns.
Didier Dagueneau's natural wines are considered masterpieces of worldwide level, the prestige of his Pouilly Fumé are among the best expressions of Sauvignon that can be found.
Domaine Dagueneau is now run by Didier's children, Louis-Benjamin and Charlotte, and has 12 hectares (12 acres) managed with almost maniacal care and perfection, very low yields, biodynamic practices and multiple harvests, it is from these rules that Dagueneau's organic wines are made.
The wines of this legend of French wine are born from experimental practices, for which Dagueneau was criticized in the past: pre-fermentation macerations, fermentations in barrique without malolactic fermentation and very long stays on yeasts.
These are French organic wines of the highest level, a balance of delicacy and complexity.
