Sancerre "Les Culs de Beaujeu" 2016 Francois Cotat - Description
The wines of the Loire express their incredible particularity thanks to the weather conditions of the region itself and the influences with which the Loire river of the same name has affected the terroir of this area.
The Sancerre "Les Culs de Beaujeu" 2016 comes from one of the most important terroirs of Sancerre, rich in kimmeridian marl, it is a wine obtained by manual harvesting and natural vinification, like other natural wines without sulphites, is neither filtered nor clarified.
This Loire wine has a beautiful golden yellow colour whose brilliance and intensity are truly enchanting. The nose is pleasing, it emanates through beautiful aromas of citrus fruits whose shyness can be perceived. With a nice aeration in my glass, I discover the marriage between notes of exotic fruit, scents of white flowers with some honeyed connotations, giving me at the same time a greedy and opulent pleasure. The palate is on two tones, the first is the precision and verticality of this wine that I characterize for a sensation of flint, while the second is in a sensation of increasing volume. The wine is a real pleasure of fruit, both juicy and carnal, with a superb balance and a powerful structure that leads the wine to a long, elegant and very fine finish.
A superb French wine for which patience is required.
