Saumur Rouge Les Motelles 2016 Guiberteau
Saumur Rouge Les Motelles 2016 is a natural wine from the Domaine Guiberteau. It is made from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes from the Les Motelles vineyard, just 1.4 hectares south of the denomination. All fields are rich in clay with ice (it is the area with a minimal amount of limestone). The grapes are totally de-stemmed and fermentation takes place spontaneously in cement, connected for 14 months in barrels from 3 to 5 years old. Saumur Rouge Les Motelles 2016 has a bright ruby red color, the nose is fruity with black currant and cherry, then turns towards smoky, ferrous, and mineral hints. In the mouth it is straight, pure and defined with a very long persistence.

Natural wines derive from the cultivation of vines treated exclusively with copper and sulfur (in limited quantities), compost of biodynamic and natural origin, respecting the growth and maturation cycles strictly dictated by nature, in order to obtain naturally healthy, strong and able to defend themselves against parasites. As for winemaking, natural wines are brought to maturity without the addition of any supporting chemicals or selected yeasts, allowing the course of spontaneous maceration of sugar and sulphites of the grapes to take place in a completely natural way.
